Impressed with my French skills? I took French from kindergarten until my senior year of high school. Then, when I got to college, I randomly decided to take Italian! Um, yeah—BAD idea! The two languages are just close enough to be SUPER confusing—especially when you’re spending all of your “studying” time at the beach. I switched back over to French when I studied abroad there the next year.
Do you speak any languages other than English? I’d hardly say that I’m fluent in French, but I know enough to get by.
Anyway, I’ve retained some of my language skills…enough to know that parfait means perfect—and in the case of my lunch, that sounds just about right!
My yogurt parfait contained: 1 container of 2% fage, blueberries, strawberries, 1/2 a Nature’s Path rebound bar (I had the other half before our gym trip this morning), and WHEATBERRIES!!! I haven’t had wheatberries in forever, mainly because I’ve just been too lazy to cook them up, but I love them so!
Mmmm…they’re so chewy and good! I can’t wait to toss these in my oats and salads this week.
Here’s the bar:
I actually liked this bar a lot! It was sweet, but not overly so. Kind of like a chewy oatmeal cookie. Good work, Nature’s Path! I still think their cereal is the best though.
Our morning has been a good one! I wrote for about an hour and a half this morning, which is good because it’s the first time I’ve done some writing all week! I have a word count goal in mind for before we leave for Spring Break in two weeks, so I’ll have to kick it up a notch if I want to meet that goal.
We went to the gym, which we also haven’t done in a while. I’ve been mainly running on our treadmill at home and doing DVDs, simply because of the snow, but it felt great to go to the gym and do some “hardcore” lifting.
Ummm, yeah—there is nothing hardcore about my weight lifting skills! But, it always feels good to do some strength training after a cardio-heavy week.
As you can see from my lunch pics, the sun is actually shining bright today—I hope it melts some of this snow away!!! I think I’m going to take Ella on a long walk so that we can soak up some Vitamin D!
See you for dinner!
